Rewrite history and reveal the truth

Lawyer/director Jeffery Robinson

Lawyer/filmmaker Jeffery Robinson discusses the real history of anti-black racism in the United States on Ben & Jerry’s podcast, “Into the Mix”

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vermont, April 29, 2022—Jeffery Robinson, who just released his searing new documentary about the history of anti-black racism in the United States, is the latest guest on Ben & Jerry’s podcast, “Into the Mix.”

Robinson is a criminal defense and civil rights attorney. His research into the hidden history of America’s ties to white supremacy resulted in a presentation and later a documentary titled “Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America.” The film has been called expansive, harrowing and one of the most powerful examinations of our nation’s national curse.

“Part of erasing history is erasing your complicity, responsibility and involvement in a system that is now exposed as truly corrupt,” Robinson says in the new episode of the podcast, airing today. “What interests me is the responsibility for our choices now and the realization of why it seems to be the case today is that we don’t know the truth about our past.”

“Into the Mix: A Ben & Jerry’s Podcast About Joy & Justice” is hosted by New York Times bestselling author Ashley C. Ford and features prominent cultural figures reflecting on how they used their influence to champion social change. The podcast is hosted by Vox Media’s award-winning brand studio, Vox Creative, with production by Black-owned ABF Creative.

“Into the Mix” is free for listeners to stream on their favorite podcast app. The series began with singer-activist John Legend. Future guests will include environmentalist Bill McKibben and rocker-poet-activist Patti Smith.
