Starting tomorrow, the Hawaii hometown airline will begin distributing the 16-ounce aluminum bottle of Mananalu to Premium Cabin customers on all international and US East Coast flights. The recyclable product will also replace plastic water bottles sold on Hawaiian’s Paul Hana snack cart on the carrier’s flights between Hawaiʻi and its 16 continental US gateway cities.

Hawaiian expects to eliminate approximately 142,000 plastic bottles from its transpacific operations each year through its partnership with Mananalu. For every plastic bottle replaced on board, Mananalu, a certified carbon neutral company and member of 1% for the Planet, will divert an additional bottle from oceans and waterways through its work with the leading repurposed plastic action platform Global, which will result in the removal of an additional 142,000 bottles. annually.
