Hyderabad: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Raja Singh has leveled allegations against Telangana police, saying they ‘side with a particular community’ in protecting comedian Munawar Faruqui’s show is held on Saturday at Shilpa Kalavedika.
“Police supported Ram Virodhi Munawar Faruqui who made derogatory comments against Lord Rama and Sita Devi, saints who died in Godhra and other prominent figures in the Hindu community,” the MP said in his message broadcast to the media.
“In any state, his program would be canceled because no one knows when he can make derogatory comments against the Hindu community,” Raja Singh said.
“Other state governments are canceling its programs. However, here the TRS and AIMIM governments allow and grant full police protection. The security measures taken were on par with the visit of a country’s Prime Minister. The police worked to make the program a success,” he said.
Singh also claimed that police brutally beat BJYM (Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha) party workers protesting the show.
“A person wearing a safari jacket was beaten up in public. The safari outfit does not belong to anyone. At one point I wore it too,” he said.
He asked activists to wait patiently for another year as he claimed the party would come to power in the state. After that, the party would take action against errant police officers.
“We will not spare the police officers who have resorted to authoritarianism. We will make sure they also clean the toilets,” Raja said while interacting with a local news channel.
Raja Singh attacked IT Minister KT Rama Rao and said he should drop the word “Ram” from his name and use Raheem, Rahman or Akbar Khan instead.
“The Ram Bhakts will teach him a lesson. Anyone who goes against Lord Ram will meet their fate. Soon K Chandrashekhar Rao and KT Rama Rao will face consequences,” Raja threatened.
MLA thanked all people who went to Madhapur to protest and were arrested.
